Game 52, Blue Jays at Mariners

LHP Gustavo Chacin vs RHP Gil Meche. FSNW.

A couple of things:
– Beltre looked like he was in pain when he stole third last night. I think that hammy’s bugging him a lot more than we’ve been led to think.
– Jeff is a man of peace
– A lefthander? Noooooooooooooooooooo.
– Is there a lower position on the camera-man totem pole than the guy who has to go into the stands to try and capture Moose antics, or get crowd shots of people waving?

295– If you’d listened to KJR a little longer this afternoon, you would have also heard the caller who suggested that we solve our SS problem by moving Ichiro there, because “he looks athletic enough to handle it.”

LOL. I’m out for tonight but that just made the couple of extra minutes I was up worthwhile; very, very funny. We should start flooding KJR with calls like this.

was he the before or after the guy who just wanted to dump Boone, and move Morse over there?

I live my life by certain rules. Among them are: Never trust daytime television talk show hosts. Beware of the Wheel of Death at the Texaco Mini-Mart. And if someone picks a fight with two fat Canadians, that person is on their own unless they get into serious trouble.

I could go for a roller coaster right about now.

Here’s the bright side though: Even though the M’s are 22-30 after 52 games, it is still better than last year at this time. After 52 games in ’04, the M’s were 19-33. Not a huge diff, but not bad considering how horrible they’ve been for the past month.

I got to go to this game — my first of the year! My fiancee got two tickets in section 117, row 6 (just past 1st base) from her someone at work! The M’s offense was frustrating through 8 innings, but it turned out to be a pretty nice game! Bret Boone being caught stealing AND thrown out at home plate was almost too much to handle. Watching Nelson and Thornton come in was rather nerve-wracking too. Thankfully we got some insurance runs so I didn’t have a stroke in the 9th in a 1-0 save situation. =)

5-1 with 2 shutouts with Borders catching? Amazing! Go Borders!

I thought they would put someone in to pinch-run for Borders when he was on 2nd base, but I guess we needed to have him around to catch Guardado in the 9th? Too bad we didn’t pinch-run for Boone after hit hit that triple…
