One More Feed Post

Dave · July 8, 2005 at 8:46 am · Filed Under Mariners

We have spots still remaining for the Baseball Prospectus/U.S.S. Mariner Ballpark Feed at Safeco Field next Saturday, July 16th. Derek, Jeff, and I will be there, along with BP’s Jonah Keri, and some unannounced special guests.

We’ve got a great event lined up as is, and we’re working on a few things in the background that would make this one of the most unique experiences a Mariner fan could have. You’re going to have a great time. The responses from those that have attended our two previous feeds have been tremendous, and this one includes a ballgame. It will be the best $35 you spend all summer.

You can signup by emailing the feed mailing list and letting us know the names of each person you are RSVP’ing for.

Come. Bring friends. Have a blast.

I fully endorse this product and/or service.

Can’t make it. Would love to hit up a game with you guys at some point, though. My buddy the other day asked me who my favorite authors were, and I responded JD Salinger first, and then some of the USSM guys second. He’s not a baseball guy so he now thinks I’m insane. Sometime when I’m back in Seatown hopefully there’ll be some sort of event. Anyway keep up the amazing work. I just realized this morning that I often check your site before my own email. HO-LY SMOKES!

Why does this say its $35, but the link says its $17.50

  4. Dave on July 8th, 2005 12:29 pm

The tickets to the game are $17.50 each. You’ll note in the link that it says there “may be an additional charge for rental of the facility and refreshmants”. Well, we couldn’t get the M’s to give us the space, so we paid for it, thus the other $16.50.

The total cost, including game ticket, is $35. And, while we realize $35 isn’t cheap, that’s simply what it costs to put on an event like this. Not only are we not making any money from this, but Derek, Jeff, Jonah, and I are all paying the $35 just like everyone else.

Oh not a problem, I was just wondering what happened. I would be up for it.

One of my softball teams qualified for the playoffs on Thursday and it’s an all day tourny on that Saturday. I figure though that by 4, we will have lost two games and I’ll be free.

    I wish I could, but I’m 3000 miles away 🙁

    I sent the email.

I sent mail this morning – should I have heard something back by now? Just wanted to make sure my mail didn’t get spam filtered out or something.

I’ve e-mailed all o’ y’all back with info on how to pay etc. Still a few spots open if you want to bring friends etc.

Oh and shameless plug (if USSM guys will indulge me). I’m hosting Baseball Prospectus Radio for the first time this weekend. You can listen live at espn950.com from 7-9 am PT this Saturday July 9. Or for people who actually enjoy sleeping, hit up radio.baseballprospectus.com next week and search for the July 9 archived show. Guests are John Schuerholz and Tim Purpura. DZ did a guest-host spot once as well, so I’m hoping to be at least 1/2 as entertaining as he was.

    See you guys next weekend!
