BP book event
Tired of waiting for that stove to re-heat? Well, fire that bad boy up with a joint Baseball Prospectus/USSM event to herald the release of Mind Game. The ever-suave Jonah Keri will be in attendance to preview BP 2006, and so will I.
Regardless of what that announcement says, there will be no regaling, and Evil Rick is almost guaranteed not to appear. But we’re chasing other special guests. Perhaps even as special as the guest Derek and I have planned for next year’s USSM gathering.
Join us, won’t you?

ummm. pizza.
I hate stoves, but I like books. Sounds like fun.
How did evil rick start?
Grumpily, paul. Grumpily.
If Evil Rick Rizzs is not gonna show, how about his sometime sub Nasty Kevin Calabro?
Hey is there going to be a pizza feed this year?
Jeff–Am abit confused regarding second sentence. Is there a period beteen joint and Baseball? That would change perspective about Mind Games.
Sorry (between)
A special guest? Could it be? No. It couldn’t. You didn’t get THE Willie Bloomquist, did you?

A USSM one? Mmmmmmmmmmmmmaybe.
And there may be a special guest. Who may be beloved by all. Who may remind you a little of the special guest at the last pizza feed. Or not.
Me?
Jason’s baby?
Willie Bloomquist AND Greg Dobbs.
Show us your pretty swing, Greg.
Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, former prime minister of Norway and director of the World Health Organization?
Speaking of (vaguely related) annual events, Dan Wilson will once again be sitting out in the cold at University Village this saturday (Dec. 3rd) to sign autographs in exchange for donations to the adoption agency that brought him two of his kids. Donation suggestions include diapers, blankets, toys, infant clothing and money — the donations will get crated there for shipment to orphanages in places like Bulgaria, China, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Romania, Russia and Vietnam.
The booth will be located near Fireworks from noon to 2pm, and they are also happy to take on-the-fly donations from those who have no interest in doing the meet and greet thing….
MSB, Thank you for posting this. Wilson was my mom’s favorite mariner. I’ll be there.
How much stuff makes a good donation?
they are happy to take most anything– I’ve seen people with one giant pack of diapers and others with a full shopping bag in line …. just think practical, I’d say.
Practical, check.
Thanks again
Sweet Gro Harlem Brundtland reference.
Norwegian Prime Minsters are always good for a laugh. I’m a Thorbjørn Jagland man, myself.
Dudes… if you want a topic posted, rather than hijack threads and get stuff deleted, just email us. Or wait like 30s until it goes up.
I was a blithering fool there, anyway. I’m glad you deleted it.
