Doyle’s second game, I hope. Check it out by listening to the outstanding broadcast stylings of Mike Curto.
GO DOYLE WOOOOOO!

GO DOYLE WOOOOOO!
Foppert’s first pitch since April 17 is a strike. Unfortunately, his second pitch since April 17 results in a double. Ah well, he’s pitching like he belongs in the Ms’ rotation already.
It’s too bad the M’s need a fielder, because the Doyle-Biscuit is so clearly suited for the Edgar Martinez Professional DH & ACL Memorial Shuffle Around the Bases slot.
Another double given up and RR scores a run. 6-3.
Woooo defensive specialist Adam Jones.
Or as Curto says, Adamn Jooohhhnessss.
And Jones snags a deep flyball on the run to end the inning for Foppert. Not bad for a long lay-off like that. Certainly up to Eddie Guardado standards.
Yeah, I’m anxious to get a look at this Jones kid.
Doyle: “Hit a strike.” That’s what he does, and is why I love him as a batter. And he puts a short, sharp lick on it when he does. Sounds easy, although I know it’s not.
Foppert: but was his second pitch a strike, hey?
Since we’re listening to a minor league game, it’s worth passing along this breaking news:
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2441691
ST. PAUL, Minn. — The St. Paul Saints, long known for their quirky, irreverent promotions, have a new name for their team mascot: “Bud Squealig.”
Cabrera steals second, Johnson swings at a 3rd strike and the ball gets away from the catcher, Johnson makes first and the throw to 3rd is too late. Runners at the corners with 1 out, bottom of the 8th.
Sounds like the Ms except these guys actually score every once in awhile.
The Rainiers have 12 more home runs than the Mariners.
It’s a wild game out there tonight — Choo picks up another RBI. If I haven’t lost track that’s 7-3 going to the 9th.
The Rainiers have 12 more home runs than the Mariners.
What would it be League Adjusted?
FIIK
Probably still positive, sadly.
56: if you can’t make it to Tacoma, the Rainiers will be on milb.tv on may 22-25. $20 for the season, looks like it’ll only have about 1 Tacoma series per month though.
1.100 OPS. More, please.
So what’s Snelling at right now for the game? (AB, BB, HBP, H, RBI, etc)
Oh kickass I just found out you can get MILB Gameday jsut like MLB gameday now instead of the crappy slow thing they had last year. Pitch location and everything…
PA AB BB HBP H AVG OBP SLG OPS
9 5 3 1 3 .600 .777 .600 1.377
Oh, well, that’s just too much.
Doyle: Misses all of camp, and the first month of the season; rehabs; shows up, and from his first plate appearance he’s the best pure hitter in Tacoma. Mate’s got game, ’nuff said.
well, i attended the game, took down more then my fair share of $1 hotdogs and enjoyed a good game from the bleachers. I got Jesse Foppert and another guy to give me a baseball. The guy who threw me the 2nd one had a white chubby face. He called me over, offered me some bazooka gum, and i asked for a ball which he gave me later that inning. Pretty cool. Nice to see doyle get a few walks and some good hits. I was at the tunnel when he was walking to the clubhouse and i overheard someone ask how the ping pong tour was going. Pretty sweet, Snelling is a nice guy.
good game all around

In short, Doyle has had 9 plate appearances and made 2 outs.
In other news, [ot]
So here’s the question on the latest WASL:
Derek Zumsteg is placed equidistant from Doyle and Johjima and told he can only run up and hug one of them. Diagram the forces involved just before his head asplodes.
He hugs Johjima. He’s afraid hugging Doyle might cause injury.
Doyle certainly presents the M’s with an vexing dilemma. How much can they count on his health (it seems pretty apparant they can count on him to be a Major League hitter). The Randy Winn deal had to have at least had as a factor that Winn would be blocking Doyle. How many more personnel moves can they make with the hope that Doyle stays healthy and productive for any length of time?
do we assume the Borchard move was somewhat related?
Does Reed have any options left? If Doyle gets called up to DH, can Reed at least go play in Tacoma?
I’m not suggesting that this is the best possible outcome, which is the Ms waiving Everett and Lawton so that Petagine, Reed, and Snelling get the ABs. But given the people who are making the decisions for the Ms, this might be the best result we could hope for.
