10:07? What the heck is that. I don’t want to be making coffee before a game.
Batista v McGowan.
The M’s lineup is 50% back to the old one for a day-after-night:
CF-L Ichiro
DH-B Vidro
RF-R Guillen
LF-L Ibanez
3B-R Beltre
1B-L Broussard
2B-R Lopez
C-R Burke
SS-R Betancourt
Lopez, it appears, found his way out of the doghouse.

GAME OVER…..SEASON OVER…BRAVSI’S TENER WITH THE TEAM SHOULD BE NEXT.
Lost 8 in a row
and then there were eight..
Appalachian State
IM so damn sick of Raul ending our chances by GIDP its f’n rediculous. What happend to this hot streak he was on? now he’s on a GIDP hot streak to end any hopes of gettin out of this damn slump. You know what else makes me mad about it, is the fact that he swung at the very first pitch, didnt give willie any time to try and steal, nope cant do that can we now. Well, at least football season is here to save us, i hope. Hey the huskies won 🙂 damn mariners, i feel like puttin holes in things with raul’s face on them.
Eight in a row…way to go, boys! >:(
Oh well, at least I’ll get to hear Hughson calling hockey again in about six weeks or so when the Canucks start playing.
201: Do you mean Bavasi’s Tenure? Uhmm..ok,
Those were some gritty, veteran-style double plays out there today!
Yeah grayfox, at least we have the Huskies to root for. I got my season tickets yesterday. They’re pretty =P
146: Go to Tacoma if you want to see Clement; he still has 3 games there.
I can hardly wait for the recap of this, wherein it’s somehow all McLaren’s fault.
It really was important to keep Putz available for the Toronto series, wasn’t it?
Didn’t Raul swing at the first pitch last night when he grounded in the DP?
Anyways, that’s Proven Veteran goodness for you.
And it was really important to have your Proven Veterans fresh and ready to aid you for your stretch run…
We could of easily won both games, you would think in both the situations you would want raul up there, but what does he go and do? disapoint the mariners nation, the yankees lost yesterday, didnt check the angels, who knows about today, we could of really been right back in this, all we needed was 1 base hit each night from one of our “proven” vet’s but no, cant even get that, sorry im just really angry right now, i threw my seahawks hat :(, i havent worn any mariners stuff the past 3 days cuz i have been so mad at the way they are playing.
Hmmm…last couple times we were in the playoff hunt, didn’t we swoon in September, too?
Just look on the bright side, Maybe Mac will get the boot if the play doesn’t turn around soon.
C’mon, look at their schedule. Look at how streaky they’ve been all year. It’s not like they saved all their swooning for September.
They’re just not a well-built balanced team.
Are we officially playing for positioning in the ’08 draft?
Actually the Angels won yesterday in the 10th. You know, like division winners do.
What an awful day. First my team CSU loses in overtime to CU their rival. Then I come back to find out M’s lost 2-1!!! BOOOO!!!
I’m sitting here looking at my Hawk’s season ticket booklet, and 9/9 just can’t get here soon enough…. if the M’s don’t get it together right damn now, they’re going to be 6 back in the WC by Wed’s afternoon.
Remember last year, when we were all excited cuz we though we were in it, then we lost what like 11 in a row and the rest of the season was just a lame excuse to call up our youngins, i feel that if something doesnt happen quick then its going to happen all over again. I really hope this is the end of Bavasi, i dont want to get rid of mac, but id rather him be assistant/bench coach, he doesnt have what it takes to win as far as we have all seen lately.
Im down in arizona for the month of september, but i did get tickets to the Hawks/Cards game and im sooo excited!
I know earlier in the season I said I was fearful that the M’s were going to trip and fall into another 6 game losing streak, but eight in a row! Right now Ichiro is with his a lawyer trying to figure out a loophole to get out of his contract. At least I can save my hard earned money and skip the next Angel/Mariners series. Thanks for a great 3/4 of a season M’s….LOSERS!!!
So uh… are there any good Washington Huskies blogs?
LOL–silly Dawgs, blogs are for fans who can type!
looks like I didn’t miss much but frustration, eh?
so, what does a complete September collapse do to turn the hot seat burners back on?
#226: We’ll see with how happy Howard Lincoln is with asses being put back in the seats.
The M’s will probably revive in time to act as spoilers for Cleveland (if Detroit manages to make the AL Central more of a race).
Ibanez hit a rocket and a hard ground ball up the middle. It it is asinine to blame him for both loses.
229 – Agree. Raul is an easy target ‘cuz he’s on a gritty veteran level GIDP streak. Likewise, it’s easy to rip on McLaren because…well… because he makes some pretty weird and, IMHO, lame decisions. There’s enough wrong with this team to spread the blame around. It starts at the FO and trickles down throughout.
I mean after getting shelled in the last series, if you’d asked me about how I’d feel about giving up only a couple runs to the Jays I would’ve snapped it up in a heartbeat. But NOOOOOOOOOO…
From FoxSports…McLaren speaks…
“We need to hit better with runners on third base. We need to pitch better, make a pitch in certain situations,” Mariners manager John McLaren said. “This is why we’ve lost eight in a row, we haven’t been doing those things.” (Doh! We’re losing because we haven’t been pitching well enough or hitting well enough! Alert the media!)
And in speaking of the batting out of order thing:
“That was our trump card,” McLaren said. “When Hill got on with the double, we used the trump card.” (Well…when you aren’t able to win in any conventional way, get out the “trump card”…)
231 – And at the end of the game, he lost his trump.
It was an “icky trump” anyhow.
At this point, I think I’d rather have Donald Trump as manager than John McLaren.
Or, better yet, CEO. Thst way he could tell both Bavasi and Mac “You’re FIRED!”
I know this has been talked about alot, but who is the ideal replacement for John Mac and Bill Bavasi? Like the realistic ones? I don’t know if Girardi would choose seattle out of all the offers he’ll probably get this offseason.
Well, we now know that Mac learned all he could from Grover in terms of knife-in-the-ribs season-ending losing streaks.
#235 Why wouldn’t he choose Seattle? We have a payroll in the top 1/3rd of the league, great stadium, great city and hopefully a GM like Antonetti that knows whats up. Whats not to like?
I agree Seattle does sound appealing from the way you put it. But Antonetti isn’t our GM…yet atleast. Hopefully since there is no chance the M’s will make the playoffs now, Mac and Bavasi will get the boot for masterminding this downfall. Just that there will be other places that’ll want managers, and also it’d just be too good to be true if Girardi came to the Mariners.
