Does anyone know why Lowe hasn’t been called up yet? Is he still needing more work? I thought he was doing okay in the big leagues earlier this year (better than a couple of our other picthers at least).
Lowe shouldn’t have come up when he did. He’s not healthy yet and probably wont pitch at all for us until next year.

“Right-hander Mark Lowe was another pitcher who received a lot of consideration for a promotion to the big league club. Lowe is coming off arthroscopic elbow surgery and has yet to make an appearance this season. During his rehab, Lowe felt some soreness that has temporarily delayed his return to the Majors.
“We’re [being] careful with him,” McLaren said. “We’re monitoring the situation. It wasn’t the same injury, but he was having some discomfort so we backed him up a little bit.”
On Friday night, Lowe pitched for the first time in more than two weeks. He allowed one hit and one walk but did not surrender a run for Triple-A Tacoma. He still remains a possibility to be activated some time this month.”
The West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx site has Jimerson with 30 SB and 9 CS, so clearly that was a typo.

I thought Reds announcers only mocked their own players and then in an incessisant, unprofessional, and often unjustifiable manner.
300 theraven – that’s just hogwash from the Yankees broadcast crew. Of the 26 remaining games in the Mariners schedule:
4 are against Tampa (crap)
3 vs Texas (crap)
and the other 19 against NYY, Detroit, LAA, Cleveland and Oakland (not crap, not even Oakland)
The Mariners remaining opponents currently sport a .516 winning percentage.

The Yankees have 24 games remaining: 12 against teams currently over .500 (2 Seattle, 7 Toronto, 3 Boston – and that includes one start from Horacio Ramirez) and 12 against Tampa, Kansas City and Baltimore.
I just got back from the game. I was surprised and happy to see at least twenty other people with Mariners jerseys and shirts. The bats came alive today!

FWIW, some of the comments in today’s game thread over there at SoSH were practically identical to some of the ones above. Pretty funny, it was like reading a split screen.
If any other player had said that I’d probably be annoyed, but coming from Ichiro, it’s just kind of hilarious.

Sure all know this, the game is being replyed at 7pm on Fox. Quite certain th results will be the same.
I’m surprised no one’s criticizing Ichiro for not trying to beat the rundown. It does happen, and players do throw the ball away. I love Ichiro, but I’m surprised someone isn’t making the case.

It suddenly occurred to me that I was a grad student at the U of Texas when Clemens was there, and now he’s washed up.
Arghhhh! What does that make me? (The guy was scary in college, though. You could hear the catcher’s mitt popping a mile away.)
However, I’ve discovered that when I don’t read USS Mariner during the game, and don’t watch the game or listen on the radio, the M’s are 1-0 this year, so I guess I’m signing off for the next few games….
scraps, if you haven’t already noticed, Ichiro can do no wrong. And his quote just made me spill my drink, if anyone ever gets around to publishing a book of Ichiroisms, let me know cause I’ll buy it.
p.s. seriously, I criticize the decision to run without checking that the ball went through, but with two outs, it’s an okay gamble, I don’t mind the decision not to play monkey in the middle, cause I’d rather not see an injury, and the probability of success is low.
It’s understandable that Ichiro ran off the field (instead of staying in a run down) because he didn’t want to be touched by any Yankee player.
The Yankees have cooties, after all.
