msb noted that we have a winner!
Cairo, or “I can’t believe he’s not Willie” is such a great imitation of Willie that McLaren will now be freed to use Bloomquist more! Which also tells you something about the daring nature of McLaren’s in-game tactics! Thrill to the thought of a year of these two together, occupying not one but TWO YES TWO bench spots every game, all season long!

Given that Mac was so terrible last year also and lost probably 4-5 games using Rick White, not to mention the other mistakes… it seems possible we could’ve won 92 games last season and therefore, Whiteless, we’re maybe a 100+ win team by getting Bedard.
Right?
Right….
At least Willie loves baseball as much as Jose and Felix love food. I don’t understand why you guys pick on him so much. Most successful teams have a scrappy, soft hittin’, good base runnin’, utility guy. (ie. Sojo).
Please cross-apply all previous statements w/r/t our opinion on Bloomquist, his use on the team, and coverage of him. We’re no picking on him.
Now I know how Bill Murray’s character felt in Groundhog Day.
Sojo could hit like Willie on steroids.
Wait, is that joke inappropriate now? Or not? I can’t tell anymore.
I know this article is about WFB but….How do you think that Cairo feels being the WFB clone? and only to get off the bench in case WFB gets used in the game first???? Maybe hearing this news, Cairo will just retire.
Re: Picking on Willie
Maybe the confusion arises from the fact that although you do not pick on Willie Ballgame, you do put the slam down on Willie-Lovers like the Kitsap Sun.
You may want ONE Bloomquist, but not necessarily TWO Bloomquists…
um, have you seen Felix? He checked in at 218 this spring.
Over the last 3 years WFB is 21 for 56 (.375!) on turf. If we just dig up the grass at Safeco and put down a rug, Willie could be the next coming of Ty Cobb.
Wouldn’t it make sense for the M’s to rotate Clement and Kenji between DH and catcher? Then have Vidro coming off the bench. He would be a great PH, expensive but good. That solves a few problems, LH power bat, keeps kenji fresh, makes the bench stronger. That way we have a good OBP guy coming off the bench in Vidro. Seems like DH/back-up cathcer is the perfect postion for Clement. What do you guys think?
We can still use Burke as the back up catcher. Or do you think Clements defensive is so bad that he needs another full year in AAA to develop? I think he is ready NOW to hit full time in the Bigs, what do we need more than a LH power bat?
Because, though he’s not good enough to start daily, he has special clutch magic that helps us when things are bad. Jeebus.
