Happy Felix Day

It’s the first one of the season, and we should all be happy that we get to enjoy seeing Felix in a Mariners uniform every 5th game.

    He was asked if he noticed the standing ovatin the fans gave him and he said, “no.” Mitch was pointing out that without much effort Bedard could be cordial, without being a “jerk.”

    One problem I have had with Mitch through the years is that he will decide someone is ‘a bad guy’ (his phrase) because they don’t handle the media well, and then talk about them as ‘bad guys’. He wasn’t particularly interested in hearing Sandmeyer’s insistance that Bedard was not a jerk.

    FWIW, I have no difficulty believe Bedard didn’t notice the ovation when he was introduced; he was in the middle of preparing for his first opening day start with his new team.

    so perhaps maybe he could actually help them do their jobs. What does it cost him? Ten minutes of his life after each start?

    he has not refused to talk after a start.

    Maybe Bedard is just a personal shy type of person. He could just not have anything to say. I would rather hear short truthful answers instead of some ra-ra team speech. No fans buy jerseys or tickets cause of interviews…
