Game 20, Mariners at Angels

Batista v Moseley. It’d sure be nice for the team to get out of town with a win here.
I remember the days when Dave said RRS was not a legitimate major league pitcher.

Beautiful final pitch. Everything away until that last strike. Nice road trip guys, come on home!

That was nice to see Mac get riled up for once. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him show emotion towards anything.

Ya know I am beginning to think this season is becoming one big conspiracy. Everyone from old man Nintendo who owns the team, to the manger is in on it.
But with all of that said. JJ will be back sometime this week. We are only 2 games behind the halo’s. The team is back to 500. Besides things could always be worse.

First my connection is thrown into purgatory, then it double-posts…yikes.
gotta love that hard-hitting Joe Morgan analysis. The Mets have to beat the Phillies & the Braves to win the division.

Now that Sexson is one away from 300 are they going to have him throw 300 balls into the stands to commemorate the achievement after his next home run just like Willie Horton did in ’79? I almost was in attendance for his 300th. Horton was sitting on 299 and crushed one in the Kingdome but it hit a speaker. Ahh for the pre-juice days when 300 meant something.

I remember the days when people didn’t claim Dave said the opposite of what he actually did say, just to fabricate a cheap shot.
The thing is, if you write enough about players, your opinions will change ad they develop (or fail to develop). If someone has a huge hole in their swing and you say “Bob’s going to have trouble hitting major league fastballs” without saying “right now if he were promoted and nothing changed” and then over the next two seasons he shortens his swing a lot and starts mashing those pitches, throwing that original fastball quote out as evidence someone was wrong substantially misrepresents the complexity of your ongoing observation.
I know Dave changed his mind. I was just reminiscing, not intending to imply something different. I asked him last year (in one of the future 40 threads) why he didn’t have RRS on the future 40 list since he was already on the team, and he said at that time he didn’t think he had what it takes to be a major league pitcher. He has since said that RRS is a legitimate number 5 starter, so I know he changed his mind.
Come on guys, one more out. Surely you can do that.
Hopefully Kenji used that visit to the mound to steal the gas can…
Here comes the pitching machine. Set it to 95mph and hope that it’s not more erratic than usual.
I was really liking boring. This excitement is not so much fun.
I really wish we had Rafael Soriano back.
This would really put a damper on my Sunday.
Not the man I hoped to see coming in.
Geez, I thought I was making a joke about Morrow.
Do not groove one to Vlad. Do not groove one to Vlad.
I really, really, wish we had Rafael Soriano back.
Garret’s a lot less effective against LHP, so that’s good
160 and 155
+1
Soriano would be injured, but I understand…
c’mon RRS feed!
How did they not call that a swing?
Ah, I remember the days when McLaren didn’t believe that RRS could pitch in the 8th/9th.
Woohoo bloglines!
Strike Four! Game over, M’s win. Whoo. Hooo.

I’m pretty sure Dave thought RRS might turn into a decent reliever in the 2004 offseason. Yup.

that darned Dave.
well, that was a lot more interesting than I was wanting.
oooh, Mike Pelfrey vs Snohomish’s own Adam Eaton tonight.
Whooooooooooops. Lemme go fix that.

Actually, what Dave said last July was that RRS wasn’t much of a prospect. See comment 11
Btw, Chris Snelling? DL. Who had April 20 in the pool?
