I’m not a superstitious guy

But you may have noticed that I didn’t put anything up at midnight on what day it is. The last couple haven’t worked out for the team, and they really need the win, so I thought I’d skip it and see how things worked out. That’s all.

I havn’t a clue what you’re talking about. Nothing special about today.
Yea I didn’t notice stuff was posted at midnight. I assumed it was all random.
Now if someone is the superstitious type he or she should be inclined for some Felix poetry today.
ooooeeeeeooooooo
So the whole Doyle thing had nothing to do with superstition? Or is that why you’re not superstitious anymore?
4 – I was just about to post something along those lines.
You know yesterday was my worst day pitching in my softball career (I walked 5 batters over 6 innings) and I still had better control than the M’s did.
Oh, it’s not your fault, Derek, it’s Niehaus for forgetting that he’s not supposed to be calling him royalty.
And, Friday the 13th is on a Tuesday this month.
Happy _____ Day..
Derek,
Good call. Love the superstition. Hopefully we can find something that works. Happy Tuesday!
¡DÃa felino feliz!
Is it safe to say that win or lose, at least we won’t walk 13 guys today?
I don’t care anymore. I’m an Asdrubal Cabrera fan now.
I am going to be positive this time and say this IS a great day to look forward to….as is every other 5th game
What are the odds of another bench clearing incident? I would love to see some runt charge El Rey so we could see a reenactment of Ryan v Ventura.
At some level, all baseball fans are superstitious. That’s what I’ve observed.
I don’t know, but the tension is still there. When RRS punched out Vazquez last night, The Mustachioed One got pretty riled up and said some unsavory things in his native tongue, hanging around a little too long before retreating to the dugout. I’m convinced the Rangers will strike back eventually, and at home. The only questions are who and when.
I just hope Beltre is on his toes for anybody that might have ideas on running out and injuring the run-of-the-mill pitcher that we’ve got going today.
Felix looks like he’s up for a bench-clearer any place, any time. First in, last out, too. I hope the umps stay on top of it. I’d rather see him tossed than hear any unsavory ligament-snapping.
I haven’t ever seen or heard of the random guy we are putting on the mound today, but I think he could hold his own in a fight. Except Hamilton, that guy is built like a bunker.

Oops I let the cat outta the bag in the Griffey post…If it helps the team at all..I take it back…
Ich bin ein Felix.
Oh wait, Gerpotenwogen! My German major seems to have slipped away…
Fröhe Felixtag!
Who was it that was yelling at Hyphen last night after he struck out. I think these two teams are fairly likely for another bench-clearing
brawlhugging and yelling flash riotAck. Bad grammar. Meaning after the batter was struck out by RRS.
Instead of superstititions, I personally enjoy predictions. They’re so much easier to evaluate after the fact.
From the SI vault
Some zingers from this article:
One item of note in the article:
By my math, this pencils out to about 4.25 runs/game. However, we’re below that for the year (4.125 runs/game, and *well* below that for games over the past month).
My question: are PECOTA projections relatively good or bad at projections? So far, they’re actually being overly optimistic.
Vazquez (see 15). And yes, I just referred you to my own post but I’m a regular Jack Palance in that regard. “Confidence is very sexy. Don’t you think?”
Okay, I know it was cheap but “ancient Mariners” made me laugh.
At least they didn’t try to make the article Rime.
25 – Thanks. How’d I miss that? I think if the kid gets a little lippy or demonstrative on the mound today you might see an M get plunked.
Frankly, the Hyphen is one of the pitching staff I’d least like to get into a brawl with. I mean, Felix is big and Rhodes looks mean (albeit old and still recovering from injuries) but RR-S is an Aussie. Granted, he’s likely to be sober, which tends to mitigate antipodean invulnerability (while improving their aim), but still. And half a world away an Aussie Mum will be jumping up and down screaming encouragement at her computer screen.
PECOTA projections probably missed that the overall level of offense in the league is generally down. Otherwise, they nailed it so far.
