I like how Wash butchered both Woodward, and Langerhans names.
Top 10, probably…
But Felix’s 1 hitter last year is far more impressive given that Boston, is well, much better than the O’s.
How much more can we get for Wash now?
Top 10?
Really?
I could get you 10 better starts by Randy Johnson.
Someone needs to slap Krueger in the back of the dome, and tell him: “It’s NOT ‘Langerhaus’!!!”
You should be good to go with remembering his last name by now, foo!
I think he hasn’t gotten it right yet. What is that 4-5 times now he has said langerhaus?
It really wasn’t like some dominating performance. I mean, he pitched well. Credit due and all.
But, a lot of credit goes to the defense and the Baltimore offense.
2 things… Phillies win 22-1… Jesus.
But Washburn’s game was incredible. He’s throwing to contact, and keeping the O’s totally off-balance. How many line drives did they have? Maybe its just cause I’m not in love with the K as some are.
Perhaps Baltimore would like a dominating pitcher like Washburn in exchange for Jones, Sherrill, and Mickolio?
So if you have a choice, do you get rid of Washburn or Bedard?
We’ll be at Safeco Field for tomorrow’s game. Hope to see a similar outcome in the flesh!
wow, some redic comments on this blog, made for some good reading. Are people serious about trading for Halladay??? Where did that come from. And if we could give up two of trufinel, aumont, and halman to get him, I’d probably do that, since Halman will probably never do anything for the M’s.
And why are people saying Guti is a free agent after this year? where did that come from??
No way we give Branyan 3 years for 21 million. I dont think his game is respected by too many people outside of seattle. But I think he would be an upgrade for one or two years over carp, and anyways carp can always DH next year.
Hi Silverbook. Welcome to USSM. Just a quick note: if you’re going to make fun of other people’s comments, you should start with writing better comments yourself. Maybe using the shift keys consistently. Or capitalizing names. Or using the ‘
Thanks DMZ. How is that crusade to get Sutcliffe fired working for you?
Yeah, that one time I got angry about that broadcast. Good times, that crusade.
I think I can speak for all of us when I say: GO AWAY.
As amazing as that is — they scored 10 runs in the first, 8 with two outs, and it was the worst score run up on the Reds since a 26-6 shellacking, also by the Philies, on July 26, 1892 — it should be noted that 6 of those 22 runs were scored off the Reds’ last “pitcher” Paul Janish, a backup infielder who now owns a shiny 49.500 ERA. (He’s clearly no Nick Swisher, but he did get 1 K on a presumably embarrassed Pedro Feliz)
Wherever one wants to place Washburn’s performance in the scale of all-time Mariner starts, it certainly is nice to add a big fat zero next to each relief pitcher’s name for 7/6 in the chart Derek started this entry with.
