Okay, sooo Shelton yay, though obviously you’d rather see Branyan. But Sweeney in the #3 spot? Why not just spot the other team a run and put someone else in there, save yourself the trouble of pinch-hitting later. I… seriously, this is Vidro-in-cleanup baffling.

Farmer cam – old friends in high places. All I can really say.
Nothing new so far. My guy is starting to get pissed that he’s getting so little intel on this, even though he’s convinced and has evidence that it’s done. Apparently Zduriencik is keeping an even tighter lid on this than he did the Putz trade, and the main partner is following suit. Trying to confirm that there is a third, facilitating team and who it is.
He is convinced, though, that we are not the “facilitator” in all this if there is a third team, and that Zduriencik is the instigator of the move. Not that that says all that much, but it does help the odds of landing a higher-end prospect or two instead of a handful of mediocre ones.
That Sweeney is faster with the hug than he is running to first. Let’s make that guy a coach…tomorrow.
MLB Trade rumors says we got Jed Lowrie…could we get Jed Lowrie?
Very few M’s on the 25-man roster arrived via the M’s draft or came up via the farm system. And after tonight fewer on the 40 man roster fewer on the 40-man roster as well.
Successfully bringing up drafted players thru the farm used to be very important to a teams longer term competitiveness AND helped maintain fan loyalty. However it appears that most M’s top draft picks are traded before bearing fruit or just don’t pan out? Is this an ongoing issue with just the M’s farm system? Or does the rest of MLB have the same problem? To be honest it is somewhat difficult to remain loyal to a team when the roster changes so much year to year. I guess that is what losing gets you? You analysts out there probably love the dynamics of it all, but I suspect most average fans like me don’t. Or I must be getting old.
On a related note whatever happened to Mayberry 2000?

That thread is crap… btw as glad as I am that they pulled this out, it shows exactly why this team isn’t a great team.
At this rate we may set the all-time MLB record for one-run wins in the season. And also the record for losses of six runs or more.
It seems like every time he’s up with a chance to win the game, the other team intentionally walks him. I was hoping that would happen again tonight.
Considering the circumstances (bases loaded 2 outs)that would have been the funniest ending to a MLB game ever.
That’s it, I’m DEFINITELY going to more games in 2010.
In the 5 games I’ve seen this year in person, the M’s are 4-1 with 3 of those wins coming in walk off fashion.
If only the M’s gave me tickets for free. . .
Oh well.
Anyhow, ONLY Ichiro could turn that junk pitch down low into a base hit to shallow center.
It wasn’t even a baseball swing, it was almost like a Tiger Woods chip shot over on the back 9 at Torrey Pines during the U.S. Open.
