Game 129, Royals at Mariners

After last night’s loss, I sat there, shaking my head a little, and sighed. Then I looked at the next game’s pitching matchup and I smiled. That’s Felix Day for you: I don’t care how he’s been doing lately, every time I see his name up for the start I look forward to it.

Sweeney has been on base three times and scored two runs. Not bad for a guy who only plays once a week or so.
Mr. Aardsma, please do not try for “interesting” tonight.
Sadly, it’s interesting already.
The D A can’t help but make things interesting. It’s what he does.
The Mariners keep playing like this and they are going to catch the White Sox in the wild card standings (sarcasm).
Nice game. Pretty enjoyable.
What are the odds of the Cialis commercial featuring a song by Ellie Greenwich who passed away yesterday. Why don’t you be be be my baby…
That was the 22nd “quality start” for Felix — the most in the American League this year. Since they look at lots of bogus stats in the Cy Young, that’s got to count for something, right?
He also now has 182 strike-outs which passes his previous career high (176 in 2006) and puts him fourth in the AL behind Verlander and Lester and a certain Mr Greinke we’re going to be seeing very shortly. And who I think would get my vote, simply because he’s getting so little help from the rest of his team (sure, Felix had Betancourt behind him for longer than Greinke has, but the Royals got Yuni because they thought he was an upgrade)
